The Kinross-shire Partnership was established in 1998 as a Rural Development Company. The membership is drawn from local individuals and business people, Perth and Kinross Council elected members representing Kinross-shire and Glenfarg as well as other local community group representatives.

The principal aim of the Partnership is to help improve the sustainable economic, social and environmental circumstances of people living in Kinross-shire. The Partnership looks to identify and help facilitate opportunities to meet this aim by also providing support to local groups and organisations.

Current Activities

Networking Breakfasts
The Networking Breakfasts continue to attract people from a many different types of business. They take place on (usually) the first Wednesday in the month at 7.30am at Loch Leven’s Larder. This is a great way to promote your business to the community. See the breakfast page for details of the next event.

Tourism

The Partnership is particularly keen to encourage more people to visit Kinross-Shire and to that end seeks to improve the information available to potential visitors through its website www.kinross.cc and the linked Facebook page.
The website also promotes local businesses, clubs and events.

The Loch Leven Heritage Trail has been a resounding success for both locals and visitors alike. To enable people of all abilities to enjoy the fantastic trail the Partnership currently has two trail scooters available for use by people with ambulatory disabilities. These two scooters are free to use and are located at RSPB, Loch Leven Nature Reserve, Kinross KY13 9LX located on the south shore of Loch Leven. Grid Ref NT160990.

Better Place to Live Fair
The Partnership recommenced, after a break caused by Covid, it’s very successful “Better Place to Live Fair” in 2023. Over the years the fair has provided local people with the opportunity to meet and interact with numerous charities, clubs and groups.

The 2023 event was so successful that it was repeated on Saturday 23rd March 2024. Over 90 local clubs, groups and charities had stalls or provided entertainment, “come and try” sports, games, activities, etc. Organised by Kinross-shire Partnership working with Loch Leven Community Campus & Partners it was a Community event attracting over 2000 people on the day.

Public Consultation Exercise.
The Partnership is in the early stages of planning a wide ranging Public Consultation on how best to improve the sustainable economic, social and environmental lives of people living in Kinross-shire and Glenfarg. We are currently engaged in discussions with local stakeholders about how best to go about this exercise and to identify what are considered to be the key priorities for individuals, businesses and organisations. In the spring of 2023 the Partnership will widen this important discussion about the future of the community out to local people
