Beavers at Loch Leven

Last week we saw evidence of Beavers at Loch Leven for the first time.
They are now widespread in Scotland so it was inevitable that they would get here at some point.

What are our next moves?
In the coming weeks we will look for evidence on the main waterbody and the burns running into the loch. We will be identifying and protecting valuable trees to us. We also have wildlife cameras all round the reserve hoping to pick up footage.

What can you do?
If you suspect you have beaver evidence let us know or record your sightings using the Mamal Mapping App: https://mammal.org.uk/mammal-mapper-app

With no fresh signs for more than a week, this single beaver might have just passed through the site.
Please remember that Beavers are a protected species, year round, in Scotland.
